In the Aosta Valley, there is a festival that transforms alpine meadows, mountain lakes and panoramic plateaus into venues where music, landscape and emotion come together: Musicastelle, one of the most evocative music festivals of the Italian summer.

In 2026, the festival will celebrate its fifteenth edition, confirming its status as a unique event on the national scene. It is not just about free concerts at high altitude, but genuine immersive experiences that invite the public to experience the mountains in a slow, sustainable and authentic way.

Each concert is reached on foot, along accessible routes immersed in the nature of the Aosta Valley. The walk thus becomes an integral part of the event: the audience passes through woods, meadows and scenic paths before arriving in front of a natural stage surrounded by mountains.

Free concerts against a backdrop of breathtaking views

In 2026, all events will again be free of charge, but access will be managed via online booking. The organisers will continue to give priority to those who choose to stay in the towns hosting the concerts, thereby encouraging tourism in the region and helping people to discover the Aosta Valley.

Any remaining tickets will be distributed free of charge via Eventbrite from the Monday of the week of each concert, subject to availability.

The venues chosen for Musicastelle are no coincidence: alpine meadows, lakes and natural terraces become spectacular backdrops where music blends with the silence and beauty of the mountains.

The programme for June 2026

  • Joan Thiele opens the festival in Doues: The fifteenth edition will kick off on Saturday 6 June in Doues, in the Champ-Mort area, at an altitude of 1,280 metres. It can be reached by a walk of about twenty minutes through meadows and woods, along an easy route suitable for practically everyone.
  • SAYF at Lake Gover in Gressoney-Saint-Jean: On Saturday 13 June, the audience will head to the foot of Monte Rosa, on the shores of the picturesque Lake Gover in Gressoney-Saint-Jean. Here, SAYF will take to the stage in one of the most enchanting natural settings in the Lys Valley. The route to the concert passes through woods and clearings, offering an immersive experience of the Aosta Valley’s natural beauty even as you walk.
  • Mario Biondi in concert at sunset: Among the most eagerly awaited events of the 2026 edition, Mario Biondi’s sunset concert certainly stands out, scheduled for Saturday 20 June in the Vetan area of Saint-Pierre. The plateau, overlooking the peaks of the Aosta Valley, will provide an extraordinary setting for a concert that promises a unique atmosphere, amidst golden light, the silence of the mountains and the unmistakable voice of the Sicilian artist.
  • The Zen Circus: On 27 June, it will be the turn of The Zen Circus, headlining the concert scheduled at Étroubles, in the upper Gran San Bernardo Valley. To reach the green space at Tsan Reclou, it will take a walk of about forty minutes through the woods, an experience perfectly in keeping with the spirit of Musicastelle: slowing down, breathing and experiencing the local area.

New for 2026: the Musicastelle Autumn Edition is launched

One of the major new features of this year’s edition is the Musicastelle Autumn Edition, scheduled for 3 and 4 October 2026.

The aim is to promote the Aosta Valley during the autumn season too, when the woods are ablaze with the colours of the foliage and the landscapes take on spectacular hues.

The concerts will take place in Saint-Vincent and Antey-Saint-André, at two venues surrounded by nature. The artists will be announced at a later date on the event’s official channels.

A festival that is becoming increasingly sustainable and accessible

Musicastelle continues to stand out for its focus on environmental sustainability. At some venues, accreditation will be linked to the mode of transport rather than to the individual, thereby encouraging carpooling and reducing traffic to mountain areas.

There is also a strong focus on accessibility, with routes designed to be suitable for a wide audience and initiatives dedicated to the inclusion of people with hearing impairments.

It is precisely this ability to combine culture, slow tourism, inclusion and the promotion of the local area that makes Musicastelle one of the most original events of the Italian summer.

An experience that goes beyond a concert

Now in its fifteenth year, Musicastelle continues to evolve without losing its identity. The festival succeeds in transforming every concert into a journey through trails, landscapes, moments of silence and live music.
It is not merely a music festival, but a different way of experiencing the mountains and the Aosta Valley: at a leisurely pace, with respect for nature and a desire to share authentic experiences in the great outdoors.
