From 27 May to 30 September 2026, Cervia once again enchants visitors with the 54th edition of Cervia City Garden, one of Europe’s most important events dedicated to landscape architecture. Together with Milano Marittima, Pinarella and Tagliata, the town is transformed into an open-air museum, where nature, art and civic engagement come together in a unique and immersive experience.

From its origins to the present day: a tradition that continues to thrive

Launched in 1972 under the name Maggio in Fiore, the event was conceived with the aim of preserving and enhancing urban green spaces and natural heritage. Over time, it has grown to become an international benchmark for landscape art.

Today, Cervia Città Giardino stands as a model of excellence, making the area even more welcoming and picturesque every year, thanks to the care taken with the green spaces and the creativity of the floral displays.

The 2026 theme: flowers that symbolise freedom

The 2026 edition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic and explores a profound and timely theme: “Flowers of freedom, roots of hope”.

A message that reflects the founding values of democracy – peace, freedom, friendship and brotherhood – transforming them into natural settings rich in meaning. The blossoming city thus becomes a metaphor for rebirth and renewed relationships between people and nations.

Just as plants need care to grow, so too do these values require daily commitment, participation and shared responsibility.

An international event celebrating creativity and collaboration

The success of the event is made possible by the collaboration of numerous Italian and international delegations from various European regions and countries. Teams of gardeners, architects and landscape designers work together to transform urban spaces into living works of art.

Each installation is the result of skill, passion and vision, helping to create a unique atmosphere filled with colours, scents and evocative imagery.

The official opening will take place on Wednesday 27 May at the Rotonda 1° Maggio, when the creations produced during the month of May by the participating delegations will be unveiled.

The installations, maintained throughout the summer by the Cervia Municipal Parks Department, will be open to the public free of charge as visitors stroll through the town and its surrounding areas, offering an experience accessible to all.

Further enriching the programme is the return of the Verde Mercato, an event dedicated to gardening enthusiasts, featuring plants, flowers and themed products.

The blossoming city: a symbol of rebirth

Cervia Città Giardino is much more than just an exhibition: it is an invitation to rediscover the bond between humanity and nature. The city in bloom becomes a symbol of life, rebirth and community, bringing together aesthetics and values in a shared experience.

The 2026 edition of Cervia Città Giardino is set to be an unmissable event, combining beauty, culture and meaning. With spectacular installations and profound messages, the event celebrates not only nature, but also the values that keep a community alive.

A sensory and symbolic journey that makes summer in Cervia even more special, transforming every corner of the town into a tale of colour, hope and freedom.
