Italy confirms itself, once again, as the home of excellence for Winter Triathlon and major international sporting events. From 27 February to 1 March 2026, the beating heart of the Belluno Dolomites will host a legendary event: the Winter Triathlon and Winter Duathlon World Championships.
The setting will be Padola, a pearl set in Val Comelico, which for three days will be transformed into a natural arena without boundaries, right in the centre of the territory that will soon celebrate the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.

A challenge for the ice giants
The world championships are not just a competition, but a celebration of human endurance. We will see the best athletes on the planet compete in the following categories:
–Elite, U23 and Junior: The future and present of the discipline.
–Paratriathletes: The excellence of willpower.
–Age Group: Enthusiasts who dream of world glory.
Running, mountain biking on snow and cross-country skiing: an explosive mix of adrenaline that will test the limits of every participant amid snow-covered woods and breathtaking views.
A natural stage, just a stone’s throw from the Olympics
Why Val Comelico? The answer lies in its natural vocation. Being chosen as the venue for a world championship is the definitive confirmation of the quality of our infrastructure and our legendary hospitality.
Hosting this event just a few kilometres from the Olympic venues reinforces the role of the Belluno Dolomites as a global benchmark for sport and outdoor tourism. It is not just a competition: it is a preview of an Olympic dream that is already in the crisp morning air.

Beyond the race: An experience for tourists
Taking part in the Padola World Championships means immersing yourself in a region where tradition and nature come together:
-Olympic atmosphere: Breathe in the energy of major world events before anyone else.
-Picture-postcard landscapes: Watch athletes speed past the peaks of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
-Flavour and hospitality: Take advantage of the event to discover the authentic flavours of Ladin culture and the warmth of our mountain huts.
Padola and Val Comelico are ready to offer a unique setting and impeccable organisation. We will make the most of every moment of the world championship parade, celebrating our communities, our roots and the environmental heritage that makes us unique in the world.
Save the dates: 27 February to 1 March 2026. The world races on snow, and it does so in Val Comelico. We look forward to seeing you at the side of the track!
