Costa di Trex Trail

On Sunday 2 August 2026, Assisi will host the 20th edition of the Costa di Trex Trail, one of the most picturesque trail running events in the heart of Monte Subasio Park.

Organised by ASPA Bastia on behalf of the Pro Loco of Costa di Trex, under the patronage of the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the Municipality of Assisi, the event offers an authentic sporting experience immersed in nature and the Franciscan landscapes of Monte Subasio.

The event features two competitive loop courses, starting and finishing at the headquarters of the Pro Loco of Costa di Trex:

• the 25 km Trail with 1,300 metres of elevation gain;
• the 10 km Short Trail with 500 metres of elevation gain.

Alongside the competitive races, there will also be a 10 km non-competitive Eco-Walk, open to all nature and hiking enthusiasts.

The routes run entirely within the Monte Subasio Park, passing through oak and holm oak woods, pastoral paths, panoramic clearings and ancient trails immersed in the silence of the Umbrian mountains.

The long route takes athletes to the summit of Monte Subasio, at an altitude of 1,290 metres, offering spectacular views over the Tescio valley and the town of Assisi.

The Costa di Trex Trail is not just a sporting event, but also an opportunity to experience the most authentic Umbria, amidst unspoilt nature, Franciscan spirituality, small villages and local culinary traditions.
